The CoVid-19 pandemic may be far from over, but we at EFEC are looking forward to a small but significant step in the journey. Starting this week, we will be seeing a small number of non-emergency patients- the first of these since the pandemic began several weeks ago.
If you are overdue for examination due to our recent CoVid-19 closure, or if you have a chronic medical eye condition that should not wait, please feel free to reach out to our schedulers at this time. We are working to prioritize patients with the highest needs, and hope that we can serve everyone in a timely fashion.
During this time, we have greatly expanded our already-thorough disinfection policies, with added redundancy (surfaces and equipment are now cleaned multiple times between each patient encounter) as an extra precaution. Each patient will be screened for CoVid-19 symptoms and temperatures taken, and will be asked to reschedule if deemed to be high-risk. Masks or face coverings (non-vented only) are required for anyone entering the building. Scheduling intervals will be much more spread out than usual to minimize possible inter-patient interactions. High-touch areas and surfaces will be disinfected at least hourly. Selection of frames will still be allowed, but with added disinfection and necessary restrictions to minimize the potential for contamination. Our patients who are 65 years of age and above will also be given priority for our first appointments of each day.
In short, we thank our valued patients for their understanding as we all work through the time of CoVid-19 together. We are doing everything we can to keep your families and ours as safe as possible, and we look forward to seeing you all as soon as we can.
